When I became a Freemason back in 1999, I quickly realized that if I wanted to wear Masonic clothing, my options were pretty limited. Most of what was available looked like something my grandfather would have worn—polo shirts with a square and compass on the left chest, and not much else. While I respect tradition, I also saw that times were changing, and I believed that the way we represented Freemasonry in our everyday lives should evolve as well.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Master of my lodge, being active in both the Scottish and York Rites, and even leading my local Shrine Temple as Potentate. Throughout my journey in the fraternity, I’ve met brothers from all walks of life, and I’ve always believed that the way we present ourselves should be just as diverse and dynamic as we are. That’s why I created Abiff Apparel—so that brothers could have stylish, modern, and even humorous Masonic clothing to wear in their daily lives, whether at the gym, on a motorcycle ride, at a casual gathering, or just out and about.

While I’ve seen many Masonic clothing brands pop up in recent years, I’ve also noticed that a lot of them aren’t actually run by Freemasons. Many of these sellers are simply capitalizing on a niche market they saw as underserved. But Abiff Apparel has been around for a long time, and as far as I know, we’re the oldest brand consistently putting out Masonic-themed fashion with authenticity and heart.

Now that I’ve become one of those “old guys” I used to joke about, I still strive to keep my designs fresh, unique, and relevant to today’s brothers. My goal has always been to create apparel that not only allows you to proudly represent the Craft but also sparks conversations with the uninitiated—those who may be curious about our great fraternity and might one day ask the question: “How do I become a Mason?”
